Water.org

Formed in 2009, Water.org is a developmental aid organization that originated from the merger between H2O Africa, which was cofounded my Matt Damon, and WaterPartners, which was co-founded by Gary White. The main agenda here is to provide assistance to developing countries in need of sanitized drinking water. On top of conducting regular monitoring, researching and evaluation, this non-profit builds partnerships with local organizations in the countries they are aiding, gets the community integrated in the project, chooses technology based on the geographical location and nature of each individual assignment, and includes a health/hygiene educational component to all of its undertakings.

Water for People

Back in 1991, Water for People was created by the American Water Works Association. This non-profit international organization helps improve the safety and quality of life for residents of developing countries by encouraging the growth and development of clean water resources, hygiene education initiatives, and sanitation facilities.  Heavily reliant on volunteers, this program encourages people to raise funds and spread the message about the urgent need for safe and sustainable drinking water and sanitation all across the globe. By working together with local governments and other reputable organizations, Water for People encourages lasting programs and establishes a constant presence in various developing countries around the world.

The Water Project

This organization has spent the last eight years providing sustainable water sources to sub-Saharan African communities that are desperately in need of improved sanitation and drinking water conditions.  Established in the summer of 2006 in Saint John, Canada, now the organization is based in Concord, New Hampshire, and has helped more than 275,000 people in their quest for clean water. By providing both financial assistance and expertly-led training sessions, the Water Project ensures that the citizens of Africa are not only set up with improved water conditions for the time being, but for years to come.

WaterAid

Founded in 1981, this international non-profit organization is headquartered in London and provides aid throughout 27 countries, including those in Africa, Asia, Central America, and parts of the Pacific region. By helping communities increase the accessibility of taps and toilets to all residents, WaterAid makes it their mission to transform the lives of millions of people all across the globe, by reducing poverty and disease brought on by unsafe water and poor sanitation. Along with its location in England, this organization also has offices throughout Australia, Japan, Sweden, other parts of the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
